Do you offer scholarships?
We offer a 15% reduction for siblings. Work-study grants are available for eligible parents and scholars.Do you take note of absences?
By law, homeschool parents take their own attendance record and can choose to employ the academic resources they choose. As this is an immersion-based academy dedicated to talent identification, we encourage full participation for the in-person cohort selected. However, we know that circumstances may occasionally arise where perfect attendance is not always possible. We keep it simple: Just communicate any anticipated absences in advance whenever possible so that we can adjust our plans.I am brand new to homeschool/hybrid school. Do I need a curriculum?
Many of our scholars achieve test scores in the 85th percentile or above (gifted and accelerated range) without a formal curriculum. Others prefer a specific publisher that has worked well in combination with the concepts of our program. We are sharing our best resources and practices gained from over 20 years of educational consulting and homeschool coaching experience. We can confidently say that regardless of your scholar’s learning style, we would be happy to help you select a primary or supplemental homeschool curriculum that matches your parent values and scholar needs.Do you include test prep?
Yes! Most professionals will engage in assessments throughout their careers, so it makes sense to include test-taking skills. While we don’t teach to the test, we do teach test skills for a variety of popular and widely accepted pre-college assessments and career certifications (and yes, even 8-year-olds can qualify to take certain career certifications!).What is the schedule for the fall?
Our scholars and parents will enjoy two 14-week semesters. Semester 1 runs from August to November. Semester 2 runs from January to April. We collaborate for 7 weeks on, then take one week off. We encourage families to travel, work on projects, or revisit pre-college planning tips during their time off. At the end of each semester, we have a two-week-long enrichment camp opportunity through exploratory travel, scholarship searches, volunteer work, and social days.Which special interest groups does the academy affiliate or encourage?
Mu Eta Sigma-National Math Honor Society, Model United Nations, Chess Club, Beta Club, Speech/Debate, Writing Club, American Sign Language, and a host of certifications, sports leagues, music programs, and pre-college courses. Scholars will get an introduction to these and more during the course of the year. The purpose is to encourage participation and peer interaction.Have Further Questions?
